Sports and athletics have always been a very big part of my life. My parents started me in softball at the age of four and I continued playing through college, finishing up my career at the University of Tulsa. After graduating I no longer had a structured, competitive training program. I tried running for a while but always felt beaten up after each outing. Finally in 2010 I found Crossfit and it was everything I needed. Not only was I able to increase my general physical preparedness but I was also able to renew my love of lifting heavy weights. Now, in my forties, I find that I am in better shape than I have ever been and my fitness is getting better each year. I’m no longer afraid of growing older and I actually look forward to meeting old age head on. As a coach I want to give people that same feeling of confidence and well-being that I’ve found in Crossfit. I’m on an endless quest to learn as much as I can about exercise and fitness and how it positively affects our physical and mental health, especially as we age.
