In 2010 my brother invited me to join him at the gym for a new type of workout called Crossfit. I was looking for a way to get back into shape so I decided to give it a try. Little did I know that I would love it so much that I would go on to get my Level 1 certification in 2011 as well as five additional certifications over the next three years. My athletic background is not extensive other than sports in high school and some running as an adult. I had never done a clean, deadlift, or snatch before Crossfit and pullups, dips and handstand pushups were not in my usual exercise regimen either. Now these movements are a regular part of life and being able to share the benefits of functional fitness with others is something that I really enjoy. As a coach I want to teach people that health and fitness is something everyone can attain regardless of their background.
